Description: Everything starts with an idea, but it’s what you do with that idea that creates an impact. Dr. Jessica Herbert started her law enforcement career as a detective for ten years before transitioning over to an ATF task force officer, professor, analyst, and entrepreneur whose business provides innovative, data-driven guidance to local government agencies to enhance their services to their community. Dr. Herbert is a lifelong learner in addition to being a teacher, acquiring multiple degrees and certificates and publishing numerous papers. Dr. Herbert discusses the importance of continued training as well as the classic conundrum of what should be taught in school and what should be learned on the job. She also discusses the agencies she has worked with over the years as a consultant in addition to the courses and presentations she has worked on. Dr. Jessica Herbert is currently the founder and CEO of IDEA Analytics.
