Description: New York is famous for its dense cities, busy boroughs, and of course the unique set of crimes that come with those. Our guest this week, Chris Herrmann shares how he helped address the gang problems utilizing GIS and criminal behavior theories. Chris encourages analysts to get out from behind the computer, beyond the dots, and to ground zero to really understand the cause and potential solutions to crime reduction and prevention. Chris is currently an assistant professor and PhD candidate at CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
