Description: This week's episode features our very own Mindy Duong! In this episode, Mindy shares how she discovered the law enforcement analysis profession, her journey across the country, and a step-by-step guide on how to create an internship program from the ground up. Mindy’s badge story explains how she developed her competency in investigative analysis and where you can go to see her presentation on it. Mindy also gives recommendations on training and other encouraging advice and stories to help listeners feel more comfortable in their careers. Mindy is currently a Data Analyst with the Department of Youth Services for the State of Colorado.

Description: This week we hear from our IACA President herself -- Mary Bertuccelli. In this episode, Mary shares how her father was able to walk into a police department and asked to speak to the Chief to hand in her resume for a job -- and it worked! Mary walks us through how she gained the confidence of officers as a female civilian analyst when assisting on a case to locate a suspect. Mary explains the benefit of networking and connecting with other analysts in the field; it is just as important as developing your technical skills! Jason and Mary also share a moment of appreciation of how different their respective lives would be if certain career decisions weren't made. As IACA President, Mary expresses her gratitude to the numerous committees that keep the IACA running through these difficult times, especially the conference and training committees. Mary encourages all members to vote in this upcoming election which closes on October 31, 2020 as well as how she envisions IACA moving forward. Mary is currently the Crime Analysis Supervisor at the Scottsdale Police Department.

In this episode, Rhea-Lyn Gerstenkorn shares how she went from a Police Service Specialist to a Crime Analyst to a Sr. Criminal Intelligence Analyst as well as the multiple training and tasks she did to prepare herself for the new positions. Rhea is currently the Chair of the IACA Ethics Committee; she gives us insights on what the committee does and what happens to ethic complaints. Rhea is active in her state's analyst association and to cultivate continuous networking and support for other analysts, she is starting a book club to help analysts stay sharp during these times. Rhea is currently the Sr. Criminal Intelligence Analyst at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

In this episode, Scott Eicher, retired FBI agent and a subject matter expert (SME) in cellular analysis shares how and why you should use cellular analysis in your investigations. Scott goes into the history of the FBI Cellular Analysis Survey Team (CAST) and how they helped set the standard for cellular analysis as we know it today, plus the societal shift that came with this new type of evidence.
